The Restless Spirits of RAF Lissett

I have had now several accounts sent to me of people hearing sounds of laughter, and in some cases music has been heard on the wind, as if in the distance, yet on straining to make it out it is always reported as being like the "big band" music of the 1940's.
This is interesting and is very much like the encounters that others have had, and I have documented in my other books and articles, on other wartime airfields.
The photograph shown, shows the entrance to the old wartime airfield of RAF Lissett; and on page 191 of Ghost Stations™ Yorkshire, I show you my plan of RAF Lissett.
This is my plan of the airfield of Lissett, which is in my book Actions Stations 4. Military Airfields of Yorkshire. You can see from my plan that the entrance to the airfield is on the right.
But it is not just music that is heard; there have also been sightings of an airman.
The areas where the most ghostly sightings have been reported to me are on the ring road leading to the bomb stores; the hard standings opposite the bomb stores, and in and around the bomb stores themselves...
The airman is in full World War 2 flying gear, and looks real enough; but makes no sound as he moves away.
All who have witnessed the ghostly airman ... from the dress obviously a member of a crew; looks as if he is looking for someone or something. There is a bluish mist always around the ghostly airman, which slightly fades when he stops...
